The Opportunity
Sattva Consulting is one of the foremost companies in the impact ecosystem. Since 2009 we have been engaging with communities, businesses and government to achieve societal impact at scale.While Sattva is an established and reputed brand among the traditional impact stakeholders (CSR, Non Profits, Foundations), the growth of the impact ecosystem has led to the presence of new stakeholder categories and the impact narrative overall becoming more mainstream. In this context, it is critical that Sattva continues to be seen as one of the foremost thought leaders and experts.
Role of PR:
Mainstream media coverage has the potential to be a critical catalyst in ensuring the awareness and understanding of impact continues to be in-depth, data backed and presented from a lens of expertise and knowledge. Sattva with its 15 year presence in impact and having worked with all key stakeholders in the ecosystem, must be seen as an expert voice.
While we continue to maintain our fundamental ethos of leading with knowledge, we believe it is important to improve mainstream media coverage for the brand.
Scope of work:
As an Associate Consultant - PR, you will be responsible to build and maintain the Sattva brand in mainstream media. You will work closely with the Head of Marketing/ Comms to optimise media opportunities for relevant, meaningful, high impact knowledge work developed by Sattva and its associated sub brands. As part of the marketing team, you will own the PR calendar, coordinate with the different Business units and knowledge initiatives, to identify, curate and position our work for media coverage.
While every day will be different, your responsibilities will include the following:

Media Strategy
- You will work closely with the Marketing head to develop the annual PR strategy for the company. Based on an in-depth understanding of our work, our vision and our growth objectives; and wider sectoral insights, you will support in developing the annual PR strategy for Sattva, identifying key thematic stories, relevant media channels and other coverage opportunities to reinforce the company’s thought leadership positioning.

Media Relations
- You will work closely with the Marketing head to build and maintain media relations with key media channels relevant for collaboration and coverage for Sattva. This will cover but is not limited to, mainstream print publications (and their digital versions), TV channels (and their landmark media properties) and new/ emerging media like podcasts etc.

PR Plan
- Develop an annual PR calendar and plan for Sattva and its associated initiatives
- Identify the most relevant/ high opportunity media channels
- Map our work (Knowledge, Projects etc) to the most relevant channel for maximum impact and reach.
- Proactively identify media opportunities for the company; and pitch Sattva work to the media. Create thoughtful, data backed pitches for the team to pitch, engage with relevant publications to ensure relevant and regular coverage of Sattva.
- Develop strategies to optimise the reach and impact of Sattva media stories
- Crisis communication - track of Brand reputation and make recommendations to address any potential crisis or impact on Brand reputation.
- Reputation Management - Track and manage Sattva’s reputation in mainstream media
- Create a system to track media opportunities + coverage

Leadership Strategy
- Work with the Marketing head to develop a strategy to build and maintain Sattva leadership coverage in Media
- Identify opportunities for Sattva founders to be invited to panels/ story features as an expert.
- Identify interview opportunities for Sattva leadership
- Conduct Media training for senior Sattva leadership if required - edited to: prep senior leaders and Sattva spokespeople before external interviews / panels regarding key messages to convey and Sattva to-do’s

PR Management
- Write and oversee press releases and drafts for the company
- Respond to media requests
- Follow up with media on potential stories/ features
- Coordinate interviews with the press
- Coordinate media attendance and management at events
- Media monitoring & analysis - maintain a tracker of Sattva’s media coverage + Peer analysis of coverage on impact sector topics for further analysis and insights
- Trend spotting - keep a pulse on what is trending in media
The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for the PR Associate role should have 2-4 years of experience in public relations or communications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong project management skills, including negotiation, outreach management and budgeting.
Familiarity with Event management systems and CRM tools
Experienced In medium to large scale, person and online events. Experience in impact sector events will be a bonus.
Expertise in Excel and Google Sheets
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders
Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and commitment to quality
Problem-solving mindset - Addressing diverse challenges with a combination of rigour, curiosity, creativity, and empathy
